2009 Club Competition Rules

Dress for all competitions will be greys. The finals will be played in whites unless otherwise advised.

A rink fee of £1 per person is payable for each match after the first round.

The first named player is the Challenger who is responsible for arranging the date/time for the game, for booking the rink and in the case of a singles match the marker.  (The marker may be of either sex for either ladies or men's games.)

The Challenger shall have 2 weeks following from the first day of the competition and of subsequent rounds to offer three sets of dates/times one of which shall be a weekend.  If this procedure is not adhered too the person being challenged shall become the Challenger.

Once the formal challenge has been made by the offering of three dates/times the person must, within a period of 48 hours of receiving the challenge, accept one of the offered dates.  Failure to do so will result in the game being awarded to the Challenger.   All disputes will be referred to the Management Committee.

If the Management Committee agrees that the circumstances warrant it, a substitution may be made in a pairs or team game.

If bad weather stops play after 10 ends have been played the position at that time shall count.

If bad weather prevents a match from being played (or less than 10 ends have been played) and there is not sufficient time to rearrange the game before the date shown on the competition list, the match will be decided by the Competition Secretary after tossing a coin.

No member may proceed in any competition beyond the ¼ finals if they have not made themselves available to play in at least 1 away and 2 home club games.  Qualifying games do not include any Mens, Ladies, Westox, County or National league games.

The Rules of Play for each competition will be as shown on the relevant competition list and must be observed. Members should note in particular the special Rules applying to the Club Champion, Handicap, Kitto Points and afternoon Triples events. To be eligible to enter the Never Won Competition a player must not have previously won the Singles Championship, the Never Won Competition, and, in the case of male members, the Singles Handicap.

The completed score card showing the names of all players, and duly signed by both players, or skips, should be deposited in the box in the Clubhouse with the rink fees.

Any competitor/team who fails to appear within fifteen minutes of the time fixed for starting shall forfeit the game.

Every effort must be made to play the final on the Club Finals Day(s).

Apart from the above E.B.A rules apply.

Challengers please, please don't leave competitions too late!  There will be no extensions.
